Hirschmann Provides 450-Ton Load Cells for Manitowoc’s 31000 Crane

February 2, 2012–Manitowoc Cranes, Manitowoc, Wis., has partnered with Hirschmann’s MCS Division, Chambersburg, Pa., for the installation of Hirschmann’s fSENS KMD 450-ton load cells on its 31000 lattice boom crawler cranes. Each 31000 model crane is equipped with two fSENS KMD load cells in the main boom rigging. 

Launched at ConExpo 2011, the new Manitowoc 31000 is the largest capacity crawler ever designed and built.

Hirschmann’s fSENS KMD 450-ton load cells suited the 31000 because of their accuracy and extreme high overload capacity. Designed for easy installation, each load cell measures 47” long by 16” wide and supports an operating temperature range of -40°F to +170°F.
