Crane Collapse Manhattan, N.Y.

February, 2016 – As workers were lowering the lattice boom of a 330-ton capacity crawler crane to secure it against rising winds, the crane collapsed killing one person sitting in a parked car and injuring three people from falling debris, two seriously. The New York City Department of Buildings had inspected the crane the day before, when workers installed an extension on the upper boom. The city issued a order for all crawlers across the city to be secured while the accident is investigated. - usatoday.com
