Sims Crane Appoints Senior Manager of Business Affairs

March 1, 2017 - Sims Crane has named Richard “Rick” DeCarlo as senior manager of business affairs. DeCarlo’s responsibilities include strengthening and growing existing customer relationships and developing new customer opportunities throughout the state. DeCarlo is based in Sims Crane’s Orlando office.

DeCarlo brings to his new position a strong background in corporate security, especially in the utilities sector. He previously held the position of lead corporate security coordinator for Duke Energy. Prior to that, he was lead corporate security specialist and senior corporate security specialist with Progress Energy. Before moving to corporate security, DeCarlo built a career in law enforcement, including serving as a special agent with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. He also served as a lead special agent assigned to the Governor’s protection detail and the U.S. Secret Service Multi-Agency Identity Fraud Task Force.

DeCarlo received his bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Florida Atlantic University and is a Vietnam Veteran, having served in the U.S. Air Force.
