March 15, 2017 – Terex Cranes has introduce the three-axle Demag AC 55-3 and AC 60-3 all-terrain cranes. The 60- and 65-ton models are designed to increase productivity and reduce operating costs and feature an automated counterweight rigging system for easy and fast setup, a one-engine concept, and the IC-1 Plus control system to achieve the maximum allowable lifting capacity.

Demag AC 55-3 and AC 60-3 all terrain cranes have a 164-ft. single cylinder telescoping main boom, and the AC 60-3 model can be fitted with a 52.5 ft. extension. The main boom on both cranes can be lowered to 5 degrees below horizontal. The outriggers can be positioned independently from each other for efficient positioning, taking advantage of the IC-1 Plus system’s ability to calculate the maximum allowable lifting capacity based on the crane’s configuration. Also, the optional remote control gives the operator the ability to safely and easily rig and operate the crane remotely from the ground.

At only 8.2 ft. wide, the same as a standard truck and the ability to stay within 12-tonne axle weight restrictions, Demag three-axle cranes provide fast and efficient transportation. The Demag AC 55-3 crane also can be configured to meet 10-tonne axle weight restrictions when necessary.

The three-sheave VarioHook system and hoist, with 6.13 to 6.75 tons of line pull, contribute to help shorten rigging time, reduce the weight of equipment transported, and save time on the job. There is also an optional all-wheel drive feature available for demanding jobsite environments.
