April 12, 2017 Bigge Crane and Rigging Co. reports it purchased 75 cranes, construction hoists, and gantries at ConExpo-Con/Agg, adding to its fleet of more than 1,000 cranes. Weston Settlemier, president and CEO, said that the investment was in upwards of $100 million.

Among the orders placed were 27 new Terex cranes, including eight rough-terrain cranes, two boom trucks, nine truck cranes, six tower cranes, and two all-terrain cranes. The Demag AC220-5 all-terrain crane on the show grounds was paired with a TransWorld Manufacturing three-axle boom dolly, weighing less than 8,000 lbs. for use in California. Prior to this large order, Bigge had purchased more than 500 Terex cranes throughout its 101-year history, and it was instrumental in the newly developed Terex RT 100US rough-terrain crane.

It also purchased 12 cranes from Tadano, including the GR-1200XL RT, 14 Kobelco crawler cranes, six Broderson RT400s, a Potain MDT219 tower crane, a Manitowoc MLC650 crawler, a Grove GRT8100 RT crane, a Liebherr LR1300 SX lattice crawler, a Liebherr LTM1400-7.1 AT crane, a Liehberr LTR1100 telecrawler, three models of Enerpac gantries, a Tadano Mantis 9010 telecrawler, and multiple Manitex boom trucks, including the TC400 and TC500.
