June 14, 2017 - Shareholders in heavy-lift firm Essex Crane Rental have approved the sale of subsidiary Coast Crane to heavy-cargo specialist Maxim Crane Works.

The deal will see Maxim expand its operations with five new branches and an enlarged fleet of crawler cranes. The expansion follows the firm’s merger with AmQuip Crane Rental and affiliated companies last year.

“The Company expects the Coast Sale to be completed within a week of this announcement, following which the Company’s Board will proceed with its deliberations with respect to dissolution or continuation of the Company,” a spokesperson for Essex Crane Rental said.

Maxim also announced the appointment of Monty Glover, Jr., from Regional Operations Manager to the Vice President of the Mid-Atlantic Region.

“Maxim is confident that this is a region that will enable us to invest and expand with the growing needs of the region. We have invested over US$40 million of equipment and resources into this strategic region over the past 12 months under the leadership and direction of Monty and his team,’ Bryan Carlisle, CEO of Maxim, said.
