Tadano delivers new GR-1200XL to Scott-Macon

November 15, 2017- Tadano has delivered its newest and most innovative rough terrain crane, the GR-1200XL to their Texas dealer, Scott-Macon Equipment (SME). The GR-1200XL has experienced strong pre-sales since its introduction at ConExpo 2017 and has been shipping to the US since October of this year. Presented to Robert Woodruff, Senior Vice President of SME, the GR-1200XL crane was immediately sent to work at a global energy company outside of Houston.

Tadano America’s Vice President of Sales, Ken Butz, and Executive Vice President of Marketing, Engineering & Training, Jay Shiffler, met with Robert Woodruff, Sr. Vice President of SME and Mike Petrey, Senior Vice President of SME at Tadano America’s facility in Houston, TX, where they completed the crane hand-off ceremony.

“We are pleased to present Scott-Macon with the delivery of their first GR-1200XL,” said Butz. “Today, we offer our appreciation for their commitment to our crane products and recognize SME as a valued Tadano dealer.”

“The GR-1200XL fills that gap nicely between the GR1000XL and GR1600XL,” said Robert Woodruff. “The long boom, transportability and Tadano’s reliability will service both our commercial and industrial customer bases very well.”

The largest 2-axle crane in the Tadano rough terrain crane line-up, this machine has a lifting capacity of 120 US tons and a boom length of 183.7 feet. The crane is also the first Tadano crane to be equipped with the “Smart Chart” system that expands and enhances the lifting capacity and operating radius over the outriggers.

“Scott-Macon is committed to providing Tadano cranes with exceptional customer service.” said Jay Shiffler. “We look forward to them introducing the new GR-1200XL into the Texas market.”
