Fairbanks Scales’ AxleSurance Offers In-Motion Weighing

October 10,  2018 - Fairbanks Scales Inc., Kansas City, Missouri, has unveiled the AxleSurance weighing system, an easy-to-install and easy-to-use slow-speed scale system that reduces installation time, real estate needed, and operation time.

The scale arrives precast and ready to be installed. A simple backhoe can both prepare the site and place the scale. The full system can be installed and calibrated in as little as four hours.

The AxleSurance weighing system is a cost-effective option for those who need to check-weigh loads but lack the space or need for a full-sized truck scale.

Although not a legal-for-trade scale, AxleSurance is a good investment for customers who want to better manage inventory and reduce risk of overload.

AxleSurance provides axle and gross truck weights that can be displayed, printed, and saved for easy recordkeeping. The unattended console is a self-contained control unit that drivers can operate entirely independently and allows transaction records to be saved and transmitted as CSV files for incorporating into the user’s ERP systems.

The system calculates, displays, and captures each axle as it rolls over the scale. It then sums the weights and prints individual axle and gross weights on the tickets.

Tare weights can be stored in the database or recorded with an in/out operation. Full concrete approaches are not required, but will improve the accuracy of the system. Hard-pack rock approaches provide accuracy of < 0.5%, on average. Concrete approaches improve accuracy to < 0.2%, on average.

The standard AxleSurance scale is 11’ wide and arrives in a precast base. The full system comes with an unattended instrument console, remote LED display, and data and homerun cable. Also included is an information management software package available in base, aggregate, and farm formats.
