New Chair for CRAC Boom Dolly Research Committee

May 12, 2020 – The Crane Rental Association of Canada has named Jason Dashney as chair of the Boom Dolly Research Committee.

Dashney is president of Myshak Crane & Rigging Ltd., Acheson, Alberta, and has been an active member of the committee.

CRAC is taking this opportunity to acknowledge the leadership of Tim Bennett, vice-president at NCSG Crane & Heavy Haul Services Ltd., headquartered in Edmonton, Alberta,  who has chaired the committee for the past two years. He was instrumental in advocating for the industry and providing excellent information on the economic impact of the crane and heavy haul industries.

Bennett succeeded Dean Schmied and Tim Sittler, whose efforts were instrumental for the creation of the committee in late 2015.“The Boom Dolly Research Committee was our very first advocacy committee and generated participation from members across North America,” said Chairman of the Board Ryan Burton, managing director at Bigfoot Crane Ltd., Abbotsford, British Columbia. “We owe a great deal of gratitude to these gentlemen and greatly appreciate Mr. Dashney taking on this leadership role.”

The Boom Dolly Research Committee takes a three-pronged approach: advocate for changes to provincial regulations; develop best practices, and research technical solutions.The Crane Rental Association of Canada’s members are crane rental companies, manufacturers and suppliers of cranes and equipment, and supplier of services used in the specialty crane rental business in Canada.
