Broderson’s All-New IC-280-A 20-USt Carry-Deck Crane Offers Many New Features

Feb. 12, 2021 - Broderson Manufacturing Corporation has begun production of its new 20-USt- capacity IC-280-A industrial carry deck crane.

The crane’s many performance enhancing features set it apart from competitors and increase its usefulness in customer fleets.

The IC-280-A is the first Broderson that includes telematics as standard equipment.

It features a 64’5” four-section, full-power boom, a compact boom head, and a 20’ boom extension that can be offset 0°, 15°, or 30°.

The maximum sheave height with the boom extension is 88’9”. The two-speed hoist with 12,500-lb. bare-drum line pull and a 186-fpm maximum line speed maintains good hook speed even with multi-part reeving.

All hydraulic functions are controlled through precise, reliable, direct-operated hydraulic controls.

Broderson has added a third, mid-extension, position to the out-and-down outriggers for more setup flexibility to enable maximum use of the crane’s lifting capacity in tight workspaces.

Removable 11” diameter nylon outrigger shoes are standard, and 20” diameter shoes are optional when a lower ground bearing pressure is needed.

Engine options include a Cummins 120-hp QSF3.8, U.S. EPA Tier 4F diesel, or a GM 5.7L V8 LPG. A global diesel engine option will be available sometime this year.

Four-wheel steer/2-wheel drive (4x2) is the standard drive configuration. Four-wheel drive/four-wheel steer (4x4) is optional.

The engine and four-speed powershift transmission deliver a top travel speed of 18 mph, maximum drawbar pull of 18,100 lbs., and maximum calculated gradeability of 64%.

The newly integrated telematics let owners access location, operating hours, usage, engine, and maintenance information both online and via mobile platforms.

An extensive list of options is available. The most popular are non-marking tires, a chassis-mounted auxiliary winch with 10,000-lb. line pull, front and rear pintle hooks, lighting packages with work and strobe lights, a searcher hook, and a three-color RCL light bar.

More information about the all-new IC-280-A is available from Broderson or its sales representatives.
