ML Crane Group Adds Liebherr LR 1600/2 Crawler Crane to Fleet

April 13, 2021 - ML Crane Group has added a new 660-USt Liebherr LR 1600/2 crawler crane to its fleet.

The unit is the 28th Liebherr crane in ML Crane Group’s fleet. It will serve customers in the wind, construction, power, and petrochemical industries.

The LR 1600/2 is part of Liebherr’s proven family of lattice-boom crawler cranes.

The LR1600/2 provides outstanding lifting capacities, variable boom and derrick systems, and component weights and dimensions that allow low-cost transport.

Equipped with the SL8F3 boom system, the crane is ideally equipped to erect and

service wind towers with hub heights up to 344’, and ground-bearing pressure is kept to a

minimum with wide 6’6” track pads.

“We at ML Crane Group are excited to announce and welcome the LR 1600/2, 660-ton crawler crane to our vast fleet of cranes,” said Scott Wilson, president of ML Crane Group. “The crane recently arrived, and its first mission is a wind maintenance project for a customer that has used our company since we started in wind energy, over 20 years ago.”

Randy Spike, regional sales manager for mobile and crawler cranes at Liebherr USA Co., added, “We appreciate the trust that ML Crane Group has placed in Liebherr with this most recent acquisition to their fleet.”

The crawler combines innovative technologies with clear practical benefits and is available to rent from ML Crane Group.

Founded in 2007, ML Crane Group consists of four companies and eight locations serving customers across the United States.
