Valla’s New Electric Pick-and-Carry Crane is 35” Wide, Can Lift 7,900 Lbs.

April 18, 2021 – Crane users who want an exhaust-free compact crane that’s easy on flooring, fits through a single doorway, and can lift nearly 4 USt, should find the new Valla V36R very interesting.

Last week, the Italian manufacturer, a subsidiary of Manitex International, which is headquartered in Bridgeview, Illinois, launched the newest battery-powered, remote-controlled compact crane in its R Series.

Only 35.4” wide and 65” high when stowed, the V36R can pass through even the smallest industrial doorways. Also, its 180° rear steering, 73.2” wheelbase, and 84.8” turning radius let it easily bypass obstacles and work in tight spaces.

Versatile, exhaust free, and easy to use, the Valla V36R is ideal for working indoors and on sensitive surfaces that require agility in confined spaces, such as airports, shopping centers, and factories, thanks to its relatively low weight of 8,377 lbs. and low ground-bearing pressure.

Though compact, the V36R offers excellent lifting height, horizontal reach, and lifting capacity. Its maximum capacity is 7,936 lbs., and its three-section telescopic boom can lift 1,763 lbs. to its maximum hook height of 24.6’. At its maximum horizontal reach of 15.6’, it can lift 1,102 lbs. The crane’s capacity and controllability let the operator handle loads easily and precisely.

The new V36R incorporates the features and feel of the "R Series" that Valla launched in 2020: front-wheel drive, powerful AC electric traction motors on the front wheels to maximize efficiency, and removable counterweights for easier transportation.

The wireless remote control makes operation simple and intuitive. And the control system’s responsiveness makes the crane easy to maneuver with excellent performance and a high level of safety.

The V36R’s outstanding technical features include: a 3,190-psi hydraulic system, 180° rear steering, electro-hydraulic brakes, and an on-board loader.

Options like a hydraulic winch and a folding jib can customize the crane to specific needs.

"The primary goal that we set ourselves in the design of the new V36R was to combine maximum performance and versatility of use while remaining in minimum dimensions," said Carlo Forini, general manager of Manitex Valla. “In short, this new model is the solution to the growing needs of safe handling of loads in confined spaces: a crane that can fully meet market expectations in terms of safety, performance, size and, of course, respect for the environment.”

Manitex International CEO Steve Filipov, added, “We all know how the topics ‘safe’ and ‘green’ are increasingly at the center of the debate. It is no coincidence that we see that regulations are becoming more and more stringent globally."

Filipov continued, "Valla, since 1945, and even more today, proposes itself as a proactive company on this. Our mission is to offer solutions to help companies and rental companies to overcome the challenges of the present and the future. At the same time we offer our experience and technology to increase productivity by offering the better return both from an economic and environmental point of view."
