New Potain Self-Erector Offers 6.6 USt Capacity, 157’ Jib Length, Compact Footprint

June 11, 2021 - Potain’s newly launched Igo T 99 self-erecting crane delivers improved reach and capacity from a compact footprint.

The Potain Igo T 99 is a versatile telescopic self-erecting crane whose 6.6-USt maximum capacity, 157’ reach, and 126’ under-hook height make it ideal for a variety of jobsites.

Compact transport dimensions, a compact footprint, and an innovative unfolding procedure ease travelling to jobsites and erecting cranes in tight quarters.

Potain Smart Set-Up technology, remote-controlled operation, and an ergonomic Ultra View Cab ensure the crane is simple to operate in a wide variety of scenarios.

The new Potain Igo T 99 ups the ante for self-erecting cranes with improved capacity and reach over previous models, but from the same compact footprint for which the Igo series is known.

The impressive capacity and reach from this compact crane will enable customers to bid for and complete more jobs, as its travel and on-site dimensions make the crane easy to transport and ideal for jobsites with tight working conditions.

The Igo T 99 features 6.6-USt maximum capacity and 157’ maximum reach.

With the jib at 147’, it can lift 1.6 USt at the tip. With 157’ of jib, its jib-tip capacity is 1.3 USt.

This new crane features plenty of vertical reach, too. Its height under hook reaches126’ with the jib horizontal, and 185’ when the jib is raised to 30°.

For maximum versatility, the Igo T 99 can work with six jib lengths: 104’, 104.9’, 110.9’, 131.2’, 147.6’, and 157’.

Three additional mast sections can be added to the crane, providing seven working heights that range from 67.2’ – 126’.

Compact, Easy

For transport, the Igo T 99 has a total transport length of just 51.3’ and height of only 13.1’ when fitted with 49.7-mph axles.

Its compatibility with all current Potain Igo and Igo T transport axles adds versatility for customers who have more than one Igo in their fleet.

To allow work on constricted job sites, the Igo T 99 features a footprint that measures only 14.7’  x 14.7’ when erected, and its new unfolding mechanism enables the crane to be erected in narrow spaces close to buildings.

The mechanism requires less ground area because the crane deploys from the top after the base is already erected.

Levelling is as simple as adjusting a support screw, and the crane can be powered both from 480V  60Hz and 400V 50Hz sources.

With Potain Smart Set-Up software, operators can fully erect or stow the crane from the remote control. A large, color screen shows step-by-step progress through an intuitive interface, and optimized ergonomics make it comfortable to use.

Operators also use the remote control for lifting functions. An Operator Control Function enables the pre-programming of three driving profiles so users can customize crane behavior to their preferences.

Operators who want to run the crane from a cab can choose from an Ultra View or Ultra View Light Cab. Cab access complies with the latest standards and offers a comfortable and productive work environment. The friendly Manitowoc Crane Control System (CCS) has become standardized across a variety of Potain cranes.

High Performance, Profitable Operation

High-Performance Lifting (HPL) technology delivers high-speed hoisting even at maximum load, and the operator can choose various speeds to match the operating needs.

The permanent four falls eliminate the need to change the rope reeving on site.

A newly designed electrical cabinet door opens from the top for maintenance access and provides handy weather protection for technicians. The electrical cabinet also includes convenient, dedicated storage for the remote-control transmitter and battery charger.

Manitowoc’s CraneSTAR diagnostic tool offers flashing warning indicators for working hours, grease level, troubleshooting, maintenance, and much more.

“The newly launched Potain Igo T 99 from Manitowoc is a highly versatile telescoping self-erecting crane with streamlined transport options and easier-than-ever setup and operation,” said Rémi Deporte, manager of self-erecting products. “This crane will enable customers to take on more jobs and achieve a higher return on their investment.”
