Two Upgraded Tadano ATs Lift More Thanks to New Boom

Tadano AC 4.110-1

August 11, 2021 – Mobile crane manufacturer Tadano recently upgraded more than just the names of its four- and five-axle cranes in the 110-USt to 130-USt class.

Thanks to a new, stronger boom, the four-axle AC 4.110-1 and five-axle AC 5.120-1 can each lift more than its predecessor. The AC 4.110-1 replaces the ATF-100-4.1, and the AC 5.120-1 replaces the ATF-120-5.1.

Even though it lifts more than the model it replaces, the new four-axle AC 4.110-1 weighs the same as the earlier model. For its part, the new five-axle AC 5.120-1 maintains a conveniently roadable 22,000-lb. per-axle load.

As part of its reorganization, Tadano will be standardizing the names of its mobile cranes throughout the year. The new AC 4.110-1 and AC 5.120-1 come with updated names right out of the gate.

Stronger Boom Means More Capacity

Both new models lift more, thanks to a new, stronger boom. Each can lift 11 USt with the main boom fully extended. That’s 37% more than the previous models.

Bigger Work Area, Ability to Handle Tighter Spaces

The two new cranes have a larger work area. A shorter minimum radius, higher maximum lifting height, and 82° maximum boom angle make it possible to work closer to the crane. That makes both cranes even better suited to tight work sites and high lifts.

New Boom Extension Sets Up Quickly

Both new models benefit from an updated boom extension (jib) that can be set up quickly because it’s less complex.

The ATF-100-4.1 and ATF-120-5.1 main boom extension, including a runner, will still be available. Both versions of the extension now offer a shorter minimum radius when mounted at a 0° offset.

Simplified U.S. Approval for AC 5.120-1

Tadano offers the AC 5.120-1 with a modified wheelbase specifically for the U.S. market. With the modification, the crane conforms to current U.S. regulations.
