JLG Awarded Marine Telehandler Contract

May 5, 2004- JLG Industries, Inc., McConnellsburg , Pa. , has been awarded a two-year contract with the U.S. Marine Corp to refurbish its fleet of Tier 1 telescopic handlers. The fleet is comprised of 132 Millennia Military Vehicles (MMV) The units were deployed in April 2002 during Operation Iraqi Freedom and returned to the United States earlier this year. New MMV models designed to comply with Tier 2 emission control regulations are scheduled to be shipped to the U.S. Marine Corps over the same period.

Additionally, the U.S. Army recently announced its intentions to enter into negotiations for a three-year sole source contract with JLG for the reconditioning of an estimated 350 All-Terrain Lifter Army System (ATLAS) vehicles and 350 of its predecessor models. Returning from Southwest Asia , the ATLAS and its predecessor models will be reconditioned to bring them up to current unit standards.

Reconditioning of the military equipment will take place in a purpose-built remanufacturing facility recently acquired from NES, which is adjacent to existing services operations in McConnellsburg, explained David Peacock, JLG's director of military programs.
