Crane Rental Corp. to Take Delivery of Manitowoc 31000

 

120104_MLElogo.jpg Crane Rental Corp., Orlando, Fla., will soon take delivery of its new 2,535-ton capacity Manitowoc 31000 crawler crane, the largest-capacity crawler crane Manitowoc has designed or built to date. Crane Rental Corp. President Alan Ashlock said the company expects to take possession of the crane within 30 to 60 days, depending on whether it's shipped to directly to a job site or the company's headquarters.

"It's getting ready to go through the paint shop and we're keeping it in Wisconsin to see if we end up with a job in that area to determine if it will stay there or come to us," Ashlock said. The 31000 transports in approximately 100 truck loads.

OSHA to Speak at MCM Crane Conference in New Orleans  

 

MCM Events will welcome an OSHA representative to address delegates at its jointly-held Crane & Rigging Conference and Industrial Crane & Hoist Conference (CRC/ICHC), at the Hampton Inn Hotel & Suites New Orleans-Convention Center, New Orleans, La., 23-24 May, 2012.


The OSHA representative will speak to ICHC delegates about, 'What to expect during an OSHA inspection', followed by a question and answer session. The presentation will follow an overview of OSHA 1910.179, delivered by Tom Reardon, training manager, hoists and cranes, at Event Partner, Columbus McKinnon Corp. He will ask, 'Does OSHA 1910.179 apply?', and explore crane configurations, regulations and standards.

Last September, Imperial Crane Services marked a monumental moment when one of its crews completed the company's largest single crane lift at the BP Refinery in Whiting, Ind. The mega item capped an eventful year for the Bridgeview, Ill., crane dealer and rental company. As part of the multi-year Whiting Refinery Modernization Project (WRMP), Imperial picked a massive knockout drum, utilizing an SCC3200 crawler crane from the company's growing Sany fleet.
