Custom Truck One Source Buys Great Pacific Equipment

September 12, 2018 - Custom Truck One Source (Custom Truck), Kansas City, Missouri, has expanded into California by buying Great Pacific Equipment (Great Pacific), headquartered in Fontana, California.

Great Pacific has distributed construction and utility equipment to the southwestern United States for 40 years. In addition to Fontana, Great Pacific also operates an office in Bakersfield, California.

Under the new arrangement, Great Pacific’s existing management will partner with Custom Truck’s management, continuing to provide the western United States with exceptional equipment and service while growing the business as part of Custom Truck One Source.

“The addition of the Great Pacific team and its locations to the Custom Truck family is very exciting”, said Custom Truck CEO Fred Ross. “We are now able to better serve our customers in the western US, continuing our commitment to the expansion of our footprint.”

In addition to Great Pacific’s robust crane offerings, Custom Truck will expand its sales and rental fleet into the region, offering chassis and track-mounted equipment for the utility, forestry, railroad, construction, propane, oil & gas, and heavy-equipment industries. Both the Fontana and Bakersfield locations will be part of Custom Truck’s nationwide aftermarket parts and service network, serving both existing and new customers.

“These are exciting times for our industry as well as for our future with Custom Truck. Partnering with Custom Truck will allow us to take full advantage of the growth in the construction, utility, and infrastructure industries over the next few years. The Great Pacific employees are excited about being a part of it,” said Tony LiRocchi, owner of Great Pacific.

Great Pacific is Custom Truck One Source’s ninth acquisition since it was formed in February 2015, and is validation of Custom Truck’s pledge to build a national footprint and a wide breadth of products. The Great Pacific acquisition was accomplished by buying a subsidiary of Great Pacific.

Funds managed by Blackstone will continue to provide growth capital for significant additional investment in equipment, innovation, and an expanded geographic footprint, which will ensure Custom Truck has the customer-focused solutions the industry requires.
