October 1, 2018 - Maxim Crane Works L.P., North America’s largest crane rental company, has bought three new Liebherr all-terrain cranes, two LTM 1500-8.1 and one LTM 1450-8.1.

The cranes’ multi-faceted attributes reinforced the purchasing decision for the company. The eight-axle LTM 1500-8.1 features a 275’ removable telescopic boom and lattice luffing jib that can be up to 299’ long. Together the boom and luffing jib can give a maximum hoisting height of 465’ or reach out to a radius of 350’.

The LTM 1450-8.1 also travels on eight axles. It has a 278’ removable telescopic boom and a lattice luffing jib up to 276’ long. Together, the boom and jib can reach up 430’ or out 328’.

Simple on-site setup makes the LTM 1450-8.1 ideal for doing multiple jobs in a day.

Maxim Crane Works L.P. currently owns more than 100 Liebherr cranes ranging from an LTM 1160-5.1 (176 tons) to an LTM 1750-9.1 (818.5 tons).

These cranes are used in the many industries Maxim Cranes serves, including power, commercial, industrial, and telecommunications.

“Our team is constantly evaluating the needs of our customers.  The addition of these large Liebherr all-terrain cranes, along with the recently delivered LTM 1750-9.1, will provide the versatility that our customers need,” said Randy Johnston, president of Maxim’s central region. “These cranes will complement our industry leading fleet throughout the Southeast and Texas to ensure that Maxim continues to deliver ‘best in class’ equipment and service.”

“Liebherr has done an excellent job of producing heavy-lift all-terrain cranes that are a core focus of our sales teams throughout the country, and we look forward to continuing to grow the fleet and work with the Liebherr team in this 8 and 9 axle class machine,” said Frank Bardonaro, COO for Maxim.

Maxim Crane has origins dating back to 1937 and has since built a company which includes more than 40 acquisitions as part of its “Company of Families.” The company has more than 50 locations around the United States and employs nearly 3,000 team members. .
