December 19, 2018 - In a new video, design-build contractor Conewago Enterprises, Hanover, Pennsylvania, tells how using a Vortex simulator from CM Labs has significantly reduced crane-operator training time and cost.

Founded in 1956, Conewago Enterprises is a family-run construction company that employs 300 professionals and handles major projects including a 150,000-sq.-ft. manufacturing facility the $45 million Wyndham/Courtyard Hotel and Conference Center in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.

The video shows a crane operator training on the simulator and contains testimony from the contractor's vice president of administration, project manager, and the crane operator who is using the simulator. The company vice president and the project manager also talk about experience using a simulator to train operators of excavators, and wheel loaders.

Among the successes: Simulator training helped an excavator operator cut 30 seconds off cycle times and is saving about $30,000 on the training of each crane operator while improving safety during the process.
