Alexis Brumm

May 22, 2019 - Heartland Communications has named Alexis Brumm as managing editor for Crane Hot Line and Lift and Access magazines, as well as its supplements, Telecom & Utility Construction and Components & Consumables.

Brumm will assist Mike Larson, Crane Hot Line editor-in-chief, and Karen Scally, Lift and Access editor-in-chief, in editing and developing content for the brands and their supplements. She will also help manage the weekly Lifting 360 enewsletter and the brands’ websites, www.cranehotline.com and www.liftandaccess.com, among other responsibilities.

She comes to Heartland Communications with experience in B2B media, public relations, and marketing, mostly in the construction equipment industry.

Previously, she served as the managing editor for three brands, POB, GeoDataPoint, and National Driller, at Troy, Michigan-based BNP Media. Prior to that, Brumm served as the director of media relations at Falcon Asphalt Repair Equipment and as an account specialist with PKA Marketing. She also was the associate editor of Site Prep magazine, another BNP Media brand, where she worked alongside Scally, who was the group editor of that magazine at the time.

“I know Alexis’ caliber of work and the value she brings to the industries she covers, and I’m so thrilled to have her join the team at Heartland,” Scally said. “Her experience and passion for the construction equipment industry will help us continue to enhance the insights and services we provide our audience and customers through quality content.”

“Alexis’ experience with construction equipment gives her a solid foundation and background for writing about the kinds of equipment that Crane Hot Line and Lift and Access cover,” said Larson. “Her versatility is proving valuable both in print and online for us and our readers. I’m excited about what she brings to our editorial team.”

"I couldn't be happier to join the Crane Hot Line and Lift and Access teams,” Brumm said. “Working for two experienced and knowledgeable editors like Karen and Mike is a dream come true, and I'm excited to learn more about the cranes, access, and material handling industries. This is a wonderful opportunity, and I can't wait to help make a difference with the brands moving forward."

Brumm has a bachelor’s degree in communications with a concentration in mass media from Albion College. She lives in the Detroit area, and she can be reached at (248) 733-3414 or alexis.brumm@hlipublishing.com.
