Tadano Upgrades GTC-1800EX to GTC-2000 and Renames All Teleboom Crawler Models

GTC-2000

June 15, 2022 – Tadano has begun to harmonize, worldwide, the model names of its telescopic-boom crawler cranes.

It also has upgraded the powerful and popular GTC-1800EX to the 200-tonne class and named the upgraded machine the GTC-2000.

Tadano’s renaming of the models in its GTC product line continues the company’s OneTadano strategy, which has already renamed its all-terrain (AC) and lattice-boom crawler (CC) crane models as of last October.

Tadano is harmonizing the names of all its GTC telescopic-boom crawler crane models worldwide by adapting them to the names used in the American market.

Accordingly, model names in the U.S. will not change.

The following model name updates for products sold outside the American market will take place later this year.

The Tadano GTC-350EX will change to GTC-350

The Tadano GTC-500EX will change to GTC-550

The Tadano GTC-600EX will change to GTC-700

The Tadano GTC-800EX will change to GTC-900

The Tadano GTC-1200EX will change to GTC-1300

The Tadano GTC-1800EX will change to GTC-2000 (immediately)

GTC-2000 Name Aligned Immediately

Due to the tremendous success and positive customer feedback generated by the GTC-1800EX since its introduction in November of 2020, Tadano will upgrade the model to the 200-tonne (220-USt) class.

“Customers kept telling us that their experience in the field showed that in several configurations the GTC-1800EX had a performance potential that far exceeded its class," said product manager Vincent Stenger. “Therefore, we are renaming the model to the GTC-2000 for all markets to better align with the crane’s lifting capacities.”

Tadano noted that the success of the GTC-1800EX (now upgraded to the GTC-2000) shows the effectiveness of developing and building a telescopic-boom crawler crane in the company’s factory in Zweibrücken, Germany. The move is part of Tadano’s expansion strategy.

One of the world’s larger telescopic-boom crawler cranes, the Tadano GTC-1800EX can fully rig itself and offers a maximum load moment of 585 tonne-meters (4,231,306.8 ft. lbs.).

It offers the lifting capacity of a 200-tonne class crane in multiple configurations.

Upgrade Kit Available

Tadano will offer customers a kit to upgrade existing GTC-1800EX units into the GTC-2000. The kit includes upgraded software that provides new load charts for 0° and 180° operation. It also includes new crane documentation, manuals, decals, and nameplate.

For all ongoing orders, Tadano will personally notify customers of the name change.

Tadano plans to exhibit the GTC-2000 telescopic-boom crawler crane at bauma 2022 this October in Tadano Ltd. stand FS 1205.
