Tower Crane Rescue Chapel Hill, N.C.

June 2016 - A crane repair technician, working on a tower crane at the site of a building under construction, had to be rescued after suffering a medical problem. The crane was malfunctioning when the repairman climbed up into the mast to assess the crane’s needs. At about 200 ft. above the top of the adjacent building, the man fell ill, and firefighters were called to the scene. A team climbed the tower and lowered the man to the top of the building before transferring him to a basket and lowering him to the ground. He was taken to a local hospital. - abc11.com
