Industry Vet Founds Vertical Tower Cranes, North America's Exclusive Recom Dealer

April 8, 2019 -  Bill Brandt, a tower crane industry veteran with more than 40 years’ experience, has founded Vertical Tower Cranes (VTC) in Austin Texas.

Brandt announced the company at Bauma 2019 in Munich Germany, where he also broke the news that VTC is the exclusive Recom tower crane dealer for North America. 

“With more than 40 years of working in the tower crane industry, I have always been looking for the right opportunity to partner with a manufacturer that is forward thinking and willing to provide the best cranes for the worldwide tower crane market,” said Brandt. “I have partnered with Mariano Moritsch to become the exclusive North American Recom crane dealer.” 

The Recom tower crane is a new product engineered and built by Mariano Moritsch of Recom Cranes.  

Moritsch and Brandt have 60 years of combined experience building and selling tower cranes. 

Brandt, president of VTC, said, “I have personally worked with Mariano for the past 20 years, and I have seen the crane expertise and value he brings to customers in the crane industry. A quality product and customer-to-manufacturer relationships are the most important part of the crane business. As a first for the industry, VTC will not be competing as a crane rental business, but will solely be representing its customers to ensure that all products are ordered and delivered to their market place flawlessly.” 

Founded by Mariano Moritsch, Recom Moritsch is a family business with generational experience in designing and building cranes.  

Moritsch’s father, Ferruccio Moritsch, began designing and building tower cranes in 1962 under the Comedil brand.  

Once again, the Moritsch family aims to create some of the world’s best tower cranes that feature industry leading technology and more than 50 years of tower crane manufacturing experience. 

The new RTT “Low Top” design combines the easy rigging of a flat-top crane with the added strength of a hammerhead unit.  

The RTL luffing boom design incorporates all the newest features, including great out of service jib angles, fixed counterweights, and single part hoist lines.
