Terex Cranes Announces New Commercial Team for Rough Terrain, Tower Crane Equipment

June 18, 2019 – Terex Cranes has announced the formation of a new commercial team to manage the sales, support, and training efforts for Terex rough terrain (RT) and tower crane lines in the Americas. Long-time Terex team member, Chris Johnson, will direct efforts for North America, while Manuel Vicuña Galarreta has been tapped to drive growth in Central and South America. Both will report directly to recently appointed Global Director of Sales for Tower Cranes and Rough Terrain Cranes Lee Maynard.

“These are important appointments that reestablish the global commercial organization for RT and tower cranes,” says Maynard. “We are excited by the opportunities ahead for both crane lines in the Americas, and we are heavily investing in a team that will help us capitalize on these opportunities and help support our customers’ success.”

Johnson has been appointed to director, rough terrain and tower crane sales for North America. He joined Terex in 2003 as a Terex Financial Services (TFS) product manager. From 2007-2012, he served as the U.S. TFS lead for Terex Cranes and was then promoted to TFS sales lead for North America. Johnson joined the cranes team in mid-2018 as director of programs and strategic initiatives for Terex Cranes North America.

Johnson will lead a newly formed, experienced team that will have commercial responsibility for RT and tower cranes in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. The new commercial team includes:

  • Mark Phillippi – rejoining Terex as senior manager, RT crane sales, North America

  • Bryce Meier – recently appointed to regional business manager and sales training leader, RT cranes, North America

  • Tony Cappellaro – sales manager, tower cranes, North America

  • Carolina Fein – sales support specialist

  • Sandy Leeth – sales support specialist

Also, Vicuña Galarreta is now the senior regional sales manager, RT and tower cranes, Latin America. In 2015, he joined the Terex sales team in Latin America and has been very effective in expanding Terex crane sales growth in the region. In this new role, Vicuña Galarreta will have responsibility for all Terex RT and tower crane commercial activities in Central and South America.

“It was critical for Terex to take these steps to enhance our sales and support of the RT and tower crane product lines for our customers,” says Maynard. “At the same time, we are investing in our engineering structure to accelerate new product development, and we are fully committed to introduce new RT models in North America during the course of 2020. Terex views these product lines as important pieces of our long-term business portfolio. We are committed to their continued development, model expansion, and sales growth on a worldwide basis.”
