Historical Equipment Exhibition Happens Sept. 23-25

Sept 14, 2022 – The Historical Construction Equipment Association (HCEA) is holding its 2022 International Convention and Old Equipment Exposition at the National Construction Equipment Museum in Bowling Green, Ohio, Sept. 23-25.

The 20-acre event brings together HCEA members, equipment fans, exhibitors, merchandise retailers, and a lot of working machines operating in live demonstrations so attendees can learn and share a bit of history. The previous exhibition featured 350 exhibits.

Attendees can also see the museum’s collection of more than 160 construction machines from the late 19th through mid-20th centuries, plus dozens of vintage construction and farming machines, trucks, engines, and military vehicles.

Other features include assembly of a Terex 33-15 Titan end dump; daily parades; toy, collectible, and memorabilia dealers; and a huge sandbox with miniature equipment for kids to play with.

This year’s exhibition will for the first time include a swap meet with vendors of agricultural, construction equipment, and truck parts, tools, and memorabilia. For pricing and availability of swap-meet space contact the HECA.

A banquet will be held on the museum grounds Saturday the 24th, with social hour at 6:00 p.m. and dinner at 7:00 p.m. Adult tickets for the banquet are $30 for adults and $15 for children 12 or younger. They can be ordered by calling the HCEA office at 419-352-5616.

The menu is Swiss steak, marinated chicken breast, red potatoes, green beans with bacon, garden salad, and relishes. Paid banquet reservations tickets can be picked up at the HCEA tables during the exhibition, and any unsold tickets will be available for sale at the show.

On-site primitive camping is available while space is available. The cost is $20 for the weekend, and there are six hotels within about six miles of the grounds.

The HCEA museum and expo site is at 16623 Liberty Hi Road, Bowling Green, Ohio 43402.
