May 10, 2023 – Palfinger recently presented its TEC lineup of loader cranes to dealers at an event in Salzburg, Austria.

Palfinger rolled out the TEC line at Bauma 2022 last October, and has been selling the units since January.

The lineup currently includes nine models with maximum moments from 25 to 100 tonne-meters (180,825 to 723,300 pound-feet).

Palfinger completely redesigned its loader cranes so that its new TEC line delivers long reach, supreme stability, and intuitive control.

Palfinger says the TEC cranes usher in a new era of crane models by combining the proven strengths of its preceding range with intelligent technologies like the Paltronic 180 control system and the LX-6 control valve.

The result is significantly greater precision, easier maneuverability, more efficient use of energy, and more convenient functions that all make operation easier.

The TEC line’s new image campaign, “Every crane operator's dream,” launched in Hangar 7, Salzburg, Austria, this week.

Total Customer Focus

“As a technology and innovation leader, Palfinger is constantly challenged to find better solutions for our customers,” said Stefan Oberleitner, Palfinger’s product line leader for loader cranes. “In the development process with the interdisciplinary project team, we involved customers right from the start in order to develop the new TEC series according to their needs … to develop every crane operator's dream.”

To make work easier for operators, the new TEC cranes feature both Smart Control, which controls the boom tip with just one lever movement, and Memory Position, which can store up to four crane positions and return to them with absolute precision.

Leveling Assist helps an operator level the vehicle during setup.

In addition, the Operator Monitor can, among other things, check the status of the machine at any time and rectify faults directly on site.

Overall, the TEC range makes it possible to start work faster and enables more efficient and simpler work processes.

Right Model for Every Job

Highlighting the TEC line’s nine models are the PK 1050 TEC for the heavy-duty segment. Its maximum moment is 723,300 lb.-ft., and it can reach out 121’5” with fly jib. Its DPS-C feature continuously maximizes capacity by knowing exactly where the crane tip is.

The new compact PK 250 TEC has a variant with continuous slewing, and the PK 245 TEC features rack-and-pinion slewing for impressive performance. Both have a hydraulic outreach of almost 65’7” and a maximum moment of 169,975 lb.-ft.
