May 16, 2023 -  Barnhart Crane and Rigging Co. and Taylor Crane Rental, of St. Louis, Missouri, have entered into an agreement under which Barnhart will buy Taylor, including its operated crane rental service and all associated equipment. Barnhard also intends to retain all Taylor employees.

Established in 1946, Taylor Crane Rental is a respected family-owned and -operated business that provides crane rental and crane services within 300 miles of St. Louis.

The acquisition will further enhance Barnhart’s presence in the Midwest, where Barnhart already operates branches in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, and Kentucky.

“Taylor has an excellent reputation for customized lifting solutions for jobs of all sizes, as well as a highly trained and dedicated staff,” said Dan Webb, Barnhart regional director. “Their team will help to secure Barnhart’s position as the best lifting and logistics provider in the region.”

Jack Taylor, principal, Taylor Crane Rental, said that Taylor’s customers will continue to receive the same quality service and product offerings as they have for the past 77 years.

Taylor added that customers will also now benefit from access to Barnhart’s nationwide network of locations, along with its project cargo logistics capabilities, its more than 60 engineers, and its fleet of barges for transport on inland waterways.

Headquartered in Memphis, Tennessee, Barnhart operates some 50 facilities from Washington state to South Carolina.

Its offerings include operated crane rental, rigging services, outage planning, specialized solutions for component replacement, industrial storage, and national project cargo logistics.

Barnhart also has one of the industry’s largest engineering teams, including a full R&D department.
