Steel Erectors Set 2021 Convention for October in Orlando

April 10, 2021 - The Steel Erectors Association of America’s 48th convention and trade show will now take place Oct. 12-14, 2021, in Orlando, Florida.

It originally was scheduled to take place in April in Orlando.

The meeting will be held at the DoubleTree by Hilton at the entrance to Universal.

Escape to Orlando — Adventure Awaits is this year’s theme. The organization has packed the schedule with networking opportunities, according to convention committee chair Carrie Gulajan. 

The convention's three-hour trade show will give attendees a chance to see the latest products, services, and innovations that boost safety and productivity on work sites. "We will have three hours of dedicated trade show time at indoor and outdoor booths," said Gulajan. "Hands-on presentations will provide a highly engaged experience."

To accommodate social distancing and small-group engagement, attendees will be split into two groups. One group will visit indoor booths first. The other group will start outdoors. The groups will switch at the mid-point in the schedule. Identical demonstrations will be held during both time slots.

Educational sessions include a panel discussion with SEAA Project of the Year winners and presentations focused on management topics.

Preceding the convention is the Dave Schulz Memorial Golf Tournament that supports safety, training, and education projects. Past editions of the tournament have enabled SEAA to award more than $40,000 in grants for craft training and development of training videos.

The Captain’s Choice style tournament will be held Oct. 12. It is open to members and non-members. Prizes will be awarded for the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place teams, longest drive, closest to the pin, and more. Registration fees include greens fee, cart, range balls, lunch, and beverages.
