August 14, 2006 • Skyjack, Guelph, Ontario, will be conducting Aerial Work Platform Training (AWPT) operator training prior to the start of the Aerial Platform Safety conference. In addition, AWPT has arranged for the AEM to contribute complimentary copies of their Aerial Devices and Aerial Platform safety manuals to all delegates. The conference will be held from October 4 to 6 at the Marriott Westchase in Houston, Texas.

Skyjack will be conducting AWPT instructor and operator courses on October 2 and 3 for both scissor lifts and self-propelled boom lifts. Operator training can be undertaken in one day for either scissor lifts or boom lifts, while AWPT instructor training is for experienced personnel and takes two days. AWPT's operator training program exceeds ANSI, CSA and ISO standards. Courses feature small class sizes with hands-on training and practical evaluation.

AWPT is the North American subsidiary of the International Powered Access Federation (IPAF). “We are pleased to be working with Skyjack and AEM and appreciate their help in making safe operation of aerial work platforms such a high priority,” said Tim Whiteman, IPAF managing director.

You can register for the conference at http://www.apsconference.com. To register for the courses, contact Skyjack at (800) 265-2738 or send them an e-mail at safetytraining@skyjackinc.com.
