AEMP Announces 2008 Fleet Masters Award Winners

March 24, 2008 • The Association of Equipment Management Professionals (AEMP) has named the winners of the Fifth Annual Fleet Masters Awards. AEMP presented Fleet Masters Awards to two fleet management professionals and their teams, one from the public sector and one from private industry, at a luncheon during its 26th Annual Management Conference & Annual Meeting in Las Vegas.

The winner for private industry was Kokosing Construction of Fredericktown, Ohio, represented by William Burgett. The winner for the public sector was the Virginia Department of Transportation, represented by Erle Potter, CEM. VDOT was previously honored with a Fleet Masters Award in 2004.

 

Fleet Masters are honored for their practices in the areas of human relations, vendor relations, asset management, maintenance management and technology.

With the Fleet Masters Award, AEMP annual recognizes industry leaders for their outstanding contributions to the art and science of fleet asset management. The Fleet Masters Award was created with Construction Equipment magazine to honor equipment management professionals who excel in meeting the unique challenges inherent in delivering cost-effective management of mixed fleets of on-road and off-road equipment. Nominations are solicited from the entire industry, and nominees and nominators do not have to be members of AEMP to participate.

 

Glenwood Springs, Colo.-based AEMP presented several other awards at its conference in Las Vegas, including Technician of the Year, Member of the Year, Associate of the Year and The Richard Hawkins Award.

 

The Fleet Masters Award is sponsored by John Deere, Castrol, Caterpillar, Construction Equipment Magazine, Komatsu, Qualcomm and Volvo Construction Equipment.
