Airtrax Announces Engineering Hires

September 10, 2007 • Blackwood, N.J.-based Airtrax, Inc., a developer of patented Omni-Directional technology with military and commercial applications, recently hired two engineers, Adam Schuman and Braheem Santos, to augment its Omni-Directional vehicle design team.

"We are extremely pleased to have these two very experienced and highly motivated individuals join Airtrax's team,” said Nicholas Fenelli, Airtrax chief of operations. “Recent interest in our MP2 products, following the successful deployment of the Israeli Air Force prototype, has prompted management to expand our team of engineers. Additionally, this new talent will free up existing resources to focus on bringing the COBRA family of aerial work platforms to market."

Schuman has extensive experience in varied hardware and software design, development and testing. Most recently employed by DPI of Essington, Pa., Schuman was involved in the design and development of 2 quarter-ton unmanned aerial vehicles that executed several autonomous flight milestones as part of a U.S. Department of Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency and Boeing Future Combat Systems contract. Schuman has also worked on various robotics projects including the Mars Smart Lander Drill and Rock Abrasion Tool for Honeybee Robotics of New York, and on fundamental robotics research in the General Robotics, Automation, Sensing and Perception Lab at the University of Pennsylvania.

Santos joins Airtrax from York/JCI of Plymouth Meeting, Pa., where he served as a project engineer, working with customers on mechanical equipment installation and service projects. Santos has also worked in mechanical design and project management for Opex Corporation, Williard, Inc., and Kimbal Glass Co. on projects as varied as mail-sorting equipment and industrial visual inspection systems.

A U.S.-based developer of Omni-Directional Technology, Airtrax designs and manufactures Omni-Directional Vehicles. The SIDEWINDER lift truck, MP2 Equipment Handlers, and the KING COBRA ATX-3368 Omni-Directional aerial work platforms are the first Omni-Directional vehicles using Omni-Directional technology and the patented Airtrax wheel to be commercially produced. The nearly maintenance-free drive system design reduces maintenance costs, delivering cost efficiencies to companies both large and small. The Airtrax patented Omni-Directional wheel is manufactured exclusively for Airtrax vehicles.
