Alimak Divests U.S. Rental Operation to Bigge
September 20, 2016 - Alimak Group has agreed to divest its U.S. rental business, based in Atlanta, to Bigge Crane and Rigging. Alimak has operated a small rental business predating the merger between Alimak and Hek in 1999. Divestment of the rental business, which has been operated as a separate unit within the Alimak U.S. operation, allows for a stronger focus on product sales as well as after sales services supporting Alimak´s entire product portfolio in the U.S. and Canada.
In 2015, the rental business represented about 1% of the group´s total revenue. The purchase price amounts to US$2.4 million. The business provides rental services for Alimak construction hoists and platforms to customers in France, Benelux, Germany, and Australia, as well as sales of Alimak´s used construction equipment.
