All Erection & Crane adds five Grove GMK7550 all-terrain cranes to its fleet.

June 18, 2008 • ALL Erection & Crane Rental Corp., Cleveland, Ohio, adds to its extensive fleet with the purchase of five Grove GMK7550 all-terrain mobile hydraulic cranes. The first of the five was delivered in April 2008 and was headed for All Erection's branch location in Mobile, Ala. The other four are scheduled for delivery to other yards in late 2008 and into 2009.

“The purchase of these versatile GMK7550s demonstrates our commitment to continuous upgrading of our fleet,” said Michael Liptak, All Erection & Crane Rental president. “The GMK7550 offers great mobility for both on- and off-road construction and industrial projects such as bridges and highways, power plants, and erecting and disassembling tower cranes.”

The seven-axle GMK7550 is Grove's largest mobile hydraulic all terrain crane, with a rated lifting capacity of 550 tons. The five-section, full-power boom provides a maximum tip height of 207 feet and features a patented Twin-Lock boom pinning system with 32 extension configurations. An optional 240-foot maximum luffing jib allows up to 430 feet overall tip height with approximately 300 feet of working radius. The lattice design luffing jib converts to a fixed offset lattice jib with lengths up to 230 feet, offsettable at 3˚ and 25˚.

The Grove electronic crane operating system (ECOS) automatically controls boom functions and also works with the EKS5 LMI system to provide the operator with a constant update of all crane conditions via CAN-BUS technology. The GMK7550 features a 255-hp Mercedes OM906LA diesel, water-cooled, superstructure engine and a 563-hp Mercedes diesel, water-cooled, turbocharged carrier engine.
