ARA Will Honor Industry Leaders at The Rental Show
December 22, 2006 • The American Rental Association (ARA) will induct three industry leaders • William “Dugan” Hill, former president of Rent-It, Inc., and Grace Equipment; Edwin Malzahn, owner of Ditch Witch; and Pamela McKenney, owner of The Rent-All Shops and the first female president of the ARA • into the Rental Hall of Fame during the keynote session of The Rental Show. The Rental Hall of Fame, established in 2000, acknowledges the historical development and impact of these leaders on the rental industry. Awards are bestowed to individuals associated with the rental industry who have made outstanding contributions at the national or international level and have led significant, positive changes in the industry overall. Nominations are sought annually from throughout the rental industry.
Along with the Hall of Fame awards winners, the ARA is also recognizing four rental industry leaders for outstanding service to the association and the industry during “Dessert with ARA” on February 7 at The Rental Show. Approximately 1,000 industry peers are expected to attend this awards ceremony.
These leaders include Thomas Fouts, who will receive the Distinguished Service Award, which honors continuous involvement and contributions at the international, national, regional, state, and local levels.
Peter Lancken is receiving the Meritorious Service Award, which honors an ARA member who has made a significant contribution and demonstrated leadership pivotal to the success of a project or program.
The Special Service Award is going to Dennis Von Ruden. This award is presented to an individual outside the general rental business who has performed an outstanding service for the good of the general rental industry.
