Nov. 22, 2023 - Barnhart Crane and Rigging Co., Memphis, Tennessee, has bought Armstrong Crane and Rigging Inc., New Brighton, Minnesota.
The purchase includes Armstrong’s operated crane rental service and all associated personnel and equipment.
The purchase marks Barnhart’s third acquisition this year.
Since 1979, Armstrong Crane and Rigging has provided the equipment, expertise, and people to serve the transport, rigging, and lifting needs of utilities and heavy industries in northeastern Minnesota, from Duluth in the north, as far south as Rochester.
The acquisition strengthens Barnhart’s presence in the upper Midwest, where it already had field offices in Iowa, Nebraska, North and South Dakota, and Wisconsin.
“Armstrong is well respected in the industry and brings an experienced and dedicated group of employees to the Barnhart family,” said Mike Lins, Barnhart’s branch manager of the new acquisition.
Lin added that Barnhart looks forward to working with Armstrong’s personnel to build on the outstanding service that Armstrong customers are accustomed to.
Lin also said that those customers now also have access to Barnhart’s national network of more than 55 locations and its full-time team of more than 60 engineers who can deliver custom solutions for lifting, transporting, or a combination of services.
