May 12, 2011 — Bay Crane, Long Island City, N.Y., has placed the first order for the new Terex Roadmaster 9000 truck crane, unveiled in March at ConExpo. Featuring an innovative, ergonomic operator and driver cab designed for exceptional working comfort, combined with heavy lifting power and highway mobility, the new Roadmaster 9000 is configurable for road transport in all 50 US states. Capable of heavy lifts of up to 90 tons and equipped with a 164.5-foot boom for a maximum system length of 242.8 feet, this latest addition to the extensive offering of Terex Cranes, Waverly, Iowa, provides excellent capacities across all configurations at all lifting radii.
“As Bay Crane continues to expand its coverage across the Northeast with additional locations in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut and New Jersey, this new machine provides us the perfect combination of roadability, long reach and heavy-lift capacity to meet all of our lifting needs in the 90-ton class,” says Kenny Bernardo, president, Bay Crane. “Equipped with a specially designed carrier offering excellent highway mobility and comfort, plus its ability to carry most of its counterweight on-board, this new model is the ideal taxi-fleet crane.”
“The Roadmaster 9000 was built with and for our North American customers,” said Frank Bardonaro, vice president, Terex Cranes Americas. ”We listened carefully to find out what they needed to be as competitive as possible in the under-100-ton class crane rental environment. The overwhelming consensus was clear—everyone wants a crane that is less expensive to operate and maintain than an all-terrain crane, while offering equivalent lifting capacity.”
Bernardo said his company “is convinced that we have succeeded in combining all these benefits into our latest truck crane model, and are proud that a leading company such as Bay Crane will be the first to put it to work. Bay Crane has always been a leader in innovation and does an outstanding job of taking care of its customers. We’re confident that our new Roadmaster 9000 will provide Bay, and its operators and customers, with the productivity and performance they require,” he added.
