Belger Cartage Service Names New President

July 3, 2015 - Belger Cartage Service Inc., a crane and heavy-haul company headquartered in Kansas City, Mo., since 1919, has named Evelyn Craft Belger its president and CEO. Craft Belger is the fourth president in the history of the company and the first woman in that role. C. Richard “Dick” Belger served as president and CEO for 30 years, following in the footsteps of his father and grandfather.

 

Craft Belger joined the company in 2009 as vice president and CFO. For the past year, she served as interim division manager for Kansas City’s crane and heavy-haul business.

 

Dick Belger will serve as chairman. Additionally, he is president and CEO of Oklahoma Territory Construction Equipment, a heavy equipment dealership in Oklahoma which he founded in 2003. “This is a significant event in Belger’s history,” he said of Craft Belger’s appointment. “It’s an important step that ensures continued growth and expanded partnerships for all six of our locations throughout the Midwest.” Both assume their new roles today, which also marks the 30th anniversary of the day Dick Belger bought the company from his family.
