Bigge Expands East Coast Operations

September 25, 2010 – Bigge Crane and Rigging, San Leandro, Calif., has announced the relocation of its Richmond, Va., branch. The new complex, which will serve as the company’s headquarters for all heavy-haul transportation and crane and rigging operations on the Eastern seaboard, is more than 12 acres and more than twice the size of its current yard.

Bigge is also adding more than 20 rough-terrain cranes and about a dozen crawler cranes with maximum lift capacities from 100 to 440 tons. The company has also hired additional mechanics, truck drivers, and inside sales personnel to keep up with the increased demand for their services on the East Coast.

The crane company also announced enhancements at other locations. The Seattle, Wash., branch has recently added sales staff and expanded into crane rental. The Houston, Texas, branch reinforced their fleet in Houston when they took delivery of several Link-Belt HC-278 truck cranes and a large crawler from the Port of Galveston to expand into the Houston crane rental market.
