Caldwell Highlights RUD’s 3D Lifting Points Configurator
Caldwell introduces RUD’s new online configurator with 3D visualization for selecting lifting points in rigging applications.
The Caldwell Group Inc., headquartered in Rockford, Illinois, is spotlighting RUD’s new lifting points configurator, a digital tool that uses animations and 3D visualization to help users identify the correct lifting point for rigging applications.
Caldwell, a U.S. manufacturer of below-the-hook and material handling equipment, partners with Germany-based RUD to distribute lifting points and related products across the United States and Canada. The new configurator expands RUD’s digital resources, enabling users to quickly determine suitable lifting points for various projects through a web-based interface.
A lifting point serves as the connection between lifting gear and a load, providing secure attachment during lifting, turning and movement. The configurator allows users to select parameters such as working load limit, number of chain legs, lifting method and connection type. It also enables filtering by boltable or weldable options, contact surface type and thread size.
The tool can narrow results based on compliance requirements like ASME standards or application-specific approvals, including offshore use. Users may further refine their search by material characteristics or design. Once complete, the configurator generates a selection of compatible lifting points with technical data, documentation and a 3D visualization of each option.
“Choosing the right lifting point for your application is critical to ensuring both safety and efficiency, but with so many options available, it can sometimes feel overwhelming,” said Sarah Stitt, product manager for the RUD range at Caldwell. “That’s why RUD developed an intuitive online selection tool designed to guide customers through the process. This tool makes it easy to filter through RUD’s extensive range of lifting points, compare product specifications and identify the best fit for your specific requirements. By simplifying the selection process, it not only saves time but also helps ensure compliance with safety standards — giving you confidence that the solution you’ve chosen is both reliable and optimized for your application.”
Caldwell continues to expand its RUD In-Stock program, which includes products such as the ACP-Turnado Automatic Center Lifting Point and VRS Swivel Eyebolts. The line now offers nearly 200 stock-keeping units across multiple lifting point styles and sizes.
The RUD In-Stock program also features remotely operated vehicle hooks, side pull load rings, center pull hoist rings, swivel eye nuts, swivel eye bolts, load rings and fall protection points, among other products.
