February 6, 2009 – Capital Safety’s new Saflok Max all-purpose connector can help reduce equipment costs by giving the user more tie-off options without the need for additional anchorage connectors. The connector fits a variety of structures that have traditionally presented tie-off challenges. The new snap hook, offered on DBI-SALA fall arrest and positioning lanyards, features a rectangular body and 3-inch gate opening providing direct connection to a variety of larger anchor points.

“Facing a tough economy, companies need equipment that multitasks,” said Nate Bohmbach, product manager for soft goods with Capital Safety. “In many cases, DBI-SALA lanyards outfitted with the Saflok Max all-purpose connector eliminate the need for a separate anchorage connector. It also makes training on multiple pieces of equipment unnecessary.”

DBI-SALA Shockwave and EZ-Stop shock absorbing lanyards as well as positioning chain rebar assemblies can now be fitted with the Saflok Max all-purpose connector. The hook and lanyards are compliant with OSHA and ANSI standards.

Capital Safety also offers the Talon Tie-Back Self Retracting Lifeline, which eliminates the need for a separate anchorage connector. Available in single-leg and twin-leg versions, this SRL is equipped with impact indicators on each leg. Three layers of webbing in the tie-back area of the lifeline provide increased abrasion resistance for added safety, and 3.5 feet of tie-back webbing allows the lifeline to be anchored around most structures.
