Cargotec Secures Equipment Order for U.S. Army

October 13, 2008 • Cargotec, Helsinki, Finland, has secured orders for a total of 428 HIAB loader cranes and 32 MULTILIFT hooklifts from BAE Systems Inc., Rockville, Md., to be used by the U.S. Army. BAE Systems is a global defense and aerospace company delivering a full range of products and services for air, land and naval forces, as well as advanced electronics, information technology solutions and customer support services.

 

The HIAB 133AT-2 crane and the MULTILIFT MPH085 hooklift represent the most modern load handling technology and are designed for military use in extreme operating conditions. The equipment will be installed on the U.S. Army's Family of Medium Tactical Vehicles (FMTV).

 

Delivery of the equipment will start during the fourth quarter of 2008, with most of the deliveries taking place during 2009. The total order value is more than $20 million. The majority of the order was booked in the third quarter.
