Cargotec Signs 13-Year Contract to Service Dutch Army Cranes
January 3, 2007 • Cargotec, the Finnish producer of Hiab knuckleboom cranes, has signed a contract to service knuckleboom and demountable cranes on Scania trucks used by the Dutch Army. This follows a 2004 order for 145 loader cranes and 548 demountable systems. The 13-year contract with Scania is worth approximately EUR 30 million ($39.5 million) and will be booked evenly through the length of the contract.
The cranes will be serviced in Hiab workshops close to army depots as well as through a mobile service setup. Hiab, a business segment of Cargotec, also agreed to take care of damage repair including spare parts supply during the agreement.
