February 27, 2008 • Cashman Equipment Company, North Las Vegas, Nev., now offers JLG aerial work platforms such as scissor and boom lifts for rent at all seven of its rental locations. The company recently announced the expansion of its comprehensive line of rental equipment, with the addition of more than 100 JLG lifts available to southern Nevada and California.

“Aerial work platforms are a common sight inside as well as outside commercial buildings and are in high demand in southern Nevada,” said Dave Damboise, a Cashman sales manager for rental services.

JLG and Cashman have a history of working together: When Caterpillar, Peoria, Ill., and JLG Industries, McConnellsburg, Pa., entered into a strategic, 20-year alliance in 2005, Cashman became the first dealership to receive the new JLG-Cat produced telehandlers. “It was a logical choice to go with JLG,” said Lee Vanderpool, Cashman's vice president of sales and marketing. “They have a proven reputation for quality and reliability, and we are very familiar with their products. We're always looking for opportunities to expand our offerings to our diverse customer base. Adding these new products to our JLG line of equipment will help us do that.”

With current headquarters in North Las Vegas, the company will relocate to its new corporate headquarters in Henderson, Nev., in early 2009. Cashman broke ground on the property in July 2007 and publicly announced that the campus buildings will be Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold designated.

Cashman's new buildings will feature a geothermal heating and cooling system. Overall, the headquarters will consume 45 percent less energy than a standard facility of the same size, according to Eric Roberts, SH Architecture's LEED Accredited Professional (AP).

While the initial cost of the geothermal heating and cooling can be significant, the company expects to see the system pay for itself over the course of the next 10 years.

“Building a facility that is LEED Gold certified is an involved, but important, process that we feel will benefit not only the company and employees, but the community and environment as well,” said Mike Pack, president of Cashman Equipment. “The extra time and care this certification requires is well justified.”
