CCAA Links to Manitowoc Crane Bulletins
March 4, 2011 – The Crane Certification Association of America (CCAA), Vancouver, Wash., has posted links to bulletins related to the air systems on Manitowoc’s M250/2250 cranes, and the center counterweight lugs on the model 2250.
The Air System Cleaning Bulletin notes that in order for the air system on Manitowoc M250/2250 cranes to continue to operate properly as designed, the air system must be regularly cleaned and maintained as specified in the crane service manual.
The Counterweight Inspection Bulletin states Manitowoc has determined that some model 2250 center counterweight lugs (Manitowoc P/N 179695) may not have adequate weld penetration due to a manufacturing process change, and has learned that vendor supplied side plates which make up the counterweight may not meet Manitowoc’s full strength requirements.
