CM Labs Simulations, a vender for simulation-based training for the construction, utilities and ports industries, has introduced the Earthmoving Fault Injection feature to its training management tool, Intellia Instructor.
This feature offers a unique solution to prepare operators for challenging real-world scenarios difficult replicate with actual equipment.
“Fault injection for earthmoving equipment joins our fault injection for cranes as well as triggered weather events. This is a really powerful trio in Intellia Instructor and is a unique way to train operators for risky situations impossible to safely recreate with actual equipment,” said Davis Sieu, product manager for CM Labs’ earthmoving training. “Life is unscripted, and your training should be, too.”
Operators are tasked with navigating virtual worksites and addressing equipment malfunctions or distractions, fostering decision-making under pressure. From distracting sounds to mechanical issues like a flat tire, each event realistically simulates potential safety hazards or operational inefficiencies, encouraging operators to sharpen their skills in a controlled environment.
This approach not only prepares operators for the unexpected but also significantly enhances safety on real-world worksites.
