CMLabs technology platform Vortex, which permits realistic, real-time, interactive 3D representation of vehicles in contact with terrain and other objects, was incorporated into the simulator. Vortex allows the creation of simulated environments with the high degree of realism required for operator training.
Using a simulator to train for noisy, dirty operations involving pile driving and drag-lining in an urban environment has clear advantages in terms of time, cost and throughput. "The opportunity to train in an effective simulation significantly increases the hours of hands-on experience our students acquire in a safe, controlled, realistic, and responsive environment," said Gerry Hughes, OETIO director.
This delivery proceeds the installation of two dome simulators for concrete pump operator training to OETIO earlier this year. The immersive four-screen VxMaster simulator delivered to OETIO is also available in this single screen, VxSolo, configuration.
