Construction Challenge 5K Run/Walk Raises More than $5,000

Terex was awarded the Manitowoc Cup for having the most participants from one company.

March 19, 2008 • More than 300 runners representing at least 20 different countries participated in the Construction Challenge 5K run/walk, March 13, 2008, in Las Vegas, Nev. The race was organized and hosted by Fort Dodge, Iowa-based Maximum Capacity Media, LLC, publisher of Crane Hot Line, Lift and Access, and Industrial Lift and Hoist magazines. Key sponsors of the event were Terex Corp. and Manitowoc. The event raised more than $5,000 for future Construction Challenge program scholarships.

The Association of Equipment Manufacturers, in partnership with Destination ImagiNation, Inc., initiated the Construction Challenge specifically to engage the interest of teens in careers in the industry through a hands-on, educational experience. Finals for the Challenge concluded during ConExpo-Con/Agg March 11-13.

Jason Eager received the Globe Trotter award for traveling the farthest for participation in the race.

More than 70 companies participated in the 5K race. The Terex team, with 80 runners, was the winner of the Manitowoc Cup for having the most participants from any one company. Jason Eager of Trimble Navigation, Christchurch, New Zealand, was the recipient of the Globe Trotter award for traveling the farthest to participate.
