Construction Survey to Gather Information on Labor Shortage
March 25, 2008 • The Construction Labor Research Council (CLRC) is now conducting a 2008 Construction Industry Conditions Survey in order to collect accurate data from union contractors nationwide on the impact of the forecasted labor shortage. This survey is being sponsored by The Association of Union Constructors (TAUC) as a benefit to the industry as a whole and its membership.
This survey will produce a definitive picture as to the state of the union industrial construction market. It will also help develop improved informational tools for communicating with owners and organized labor about important industry conditions.
“Our association, with the assistance of CLRC'S Executive Director Robert Gasperow, is continually looking for better information on not only the current status of the U.S. construction industry, but on ways union contractors can compete more effectively,” said Robert Hoover, TAUC president. “This survey is but one example of our ongoing efforts to get hard data that will assist in our ability to accomplish this.”
The survey takes less than 15 minutes to complete. The survey results will be shared by Gasperow on May 16 at the 2008 TAUC Leadership Conference in
