Could the Right Articulating Crane Give Your Productivity a Boost?
February 11, 2015 - It’s a challenge every contractor faces: Get more done in less time. The right articulating crane can increase productivity by enabling the most-efficient loading and unloading of materials.
Boosting contractor productivity is a constant focus for Iowa Mold Tooling Co. Inc. (IMT), which offers articulating cranes in addition to service trucks, hydraulic loaders and air compressors.
“At IMT, we’re committed to providing enhanced lift and reach capabilities while reducing weight,” says John Field, product manager of material handling. “This optimization results in articulating crane offerings that help customers maximize productivity and profitability.”
With ratings from 2.5 tm (18,085 foot-pounds) to 80 tm (557,665 foot-pounds) and numerous options, the IMT articulating crane lineup has a model to meet almost any need, Field says. He says the IMT lineup increases productivity through:
- Premium performance. Excellent strength and reach, high working speed and precision control maximize operator efficiency.
- Long-reach capabilities. Hydraulically powered extensions offer reach customized for the application.
- More payload capacity. IMT articulating cranes provide lower weight and stow within themselves, resulting in more payload capacity and space for materials.
The latest addition to the IMT articulating crane lineup is the 32 tm model. Rated 222,050 foot-pounds, the IMT 32/222 crane features a maximum lifting capacity of 15,058 pounds (6,830 kilograms) at a radius of 14 feet 9 inches (4.5 meters). The crane offers one of the industry’s longest horizontal reaches in the 30 tm range: 69 feet 7 inches (21.2 meters) with eight hydraulic extensions.
Productivity-enhancing features of the 32 tm articulating crane include the dual-power plus link-arm system, 15-degree overbending, continuous rotation and a standard radio remote control, Field says.
“Like the rest of our lineup, the 32 tm crane offers the performance to make loading and unloading materials more efficient,” Field says. “Operators can move and haul more materials with this crane, which has a positive impact on the bottom line.”
