Crane Service Purchases Liebherr 1300SX Crawler Crane

 

 

May 28, 2015 - Crane Service has added the 330-ton Liebherr LR1300SX crawler crane for the company’s Southwest rental fleet. The LR1300SX, outfitted with carbon fiber pendant lines instead of the normal steel pendant lines, will help end users renting this crane for work in wind parks, where a long boom is required to lift heavy wind turbine components, says Scott Wilson, president.

 

This crane will also be very effective in the oil and gas and construction sectors where a strong lifting chart is required, according to the rental company, which chose the machine to round out its crawler crane fleet and fill a capacity gap between the Manitowoc 2250 and Manitowoc 16000 that both currently reside in the fleet.

 

 

 

“This will be our first Liebherr crawler crane purchase, which is really exciting,” reports Wilson. “We have heard positive feedback from others who currently own this crane. We felt that the LR1300SX with carbon fiber pendants was the right move for our crawler crane fleet. Capacity wise, this crane will help us bridge the gap between our 2250 crawler cranes and our 16000 crawler crane, which will give us more options when we are planning projects.”
